BCR: Think that's probably the same all over, probably has more to do with children than anything else...
JIM GOAD: I don't think the Apocalypse was as close as it is now (laughs)- thing are a'brewin', and it doesn't bode well. Right after ANSWER Me! ended, the big story was domestic terrorism, and the Oklahoma City bombing, and militias, and now we're being dragged in by our leaders into a global culture war, and I don't see much positive coming out of that. I don't have much respect at all for Islam- I think it's easily the most unpleasant of the major world religions, with the most immature god concocted by man. That is a god that's extremely insecure, I mean, any deity that needs to be worshiped to that degree is not omnipotent. Who the hell would- if you were God, why the fuck would you care if anyone slandered your name? You're God! Who cares?
BCR: Kinda takes the edge off being omnipotent, really...
JIM GOAD: I mean, why would you, I mean, if I was God, I'd be completely happy! If he set the whole situation up, why would he be disappointed with it, if he was all-powerful? I mean, The Lucifer Principle, by Howard Bloom, the last rough third of that book is dedicated to the idea of Islam as a meme on the rise, Christianity's like a culture in decline, they make concessions, they apologise, they feel guilt- the Islamic world's not like that at all. I really think it's a flawed system that's intolerant of free inquiry and rational discussion- I'm always amused that American blacks embrace it; you know the word “black” and the word “slave” in Arabic are the same word? I mean, the Muslim slave traders had their hands in Africa long before the European ones did. I'm always intrigued by how everything truly is upside down. And wherever the popular mindset is at any given time, that they're completely fucking wrong. They got there too late, or way too early. At least in America, y'know, we're supposed to be tolerant and embracing of thought systems which are not tolerant of our system whatsoever. I mean, the Islamic world- all we hear about here is how evil the white man is, the white male is, how sexist- do they know about Islamic culture, or Asian culture...? Women get shoved around and raped and their feet bound, and shut down and repressed so much more thoroughly than in Western civilisation. But you can't talk about that; it makes you a racist. I mean, race has been my kick for a long time, just because you're not allowed to talk about it with anything resembling logic. It's a folk religion- it's based on this shadowy notion of equality, but the truth is there's no evidence of equality. All of the evidence points in the opposite direction; that people are savagely unequal and that some groups of people tend to be more intelligent, have more raw intelligence at birth, than other groups of people. But again, you can't talk about that without being shouted down, and labeled, and branded... I'm a disillusioned liberal from way back, because they started acting like the people I hated were acting. They're the biggest censors now, they're the biggest ones to call you nasty names instead of engaging in rational discussion.... they're as bad as the Conservatives were- I'm not even sure liberal and Conservative mean the same in the UK as they do here...
BCR:Yeah, over here, Republicans tend to be on the left, because they're the ones who want to get rid of the Royal Family, so it's all very confusing when we look at politics over there.
JIM GOAD: I don't buy into the whole left/right continuum at all, I think that's the biggest unproven conspiracy theory. Because if you quizzed me, I think my beliefs would fall all over the map, at least how they map it out. So to me it's always hilarious how Leftists tend to stereotype people who don't agree with them. So I get called all sorts of things that don't ring true to me, because I know what's going on in my head, I'm not what anybody would consider a- at least in my mind, I'm not what I would consider a right-winger either. I believe people are basically corrupt, and that means women, blacks, just about everyone.
BCR:Including whites in that, everyone across the board?
JIM GOAD: Oh, sure! I've said in The Redneck Manifesto, I'm no fan of white supremacy. Everyone knows that chinks and Jews are superior. And the IQ tests pretty much across the board bear that out, that raw intelligence tends to cluster amid Eastern European Jews and Asians of all stripes more than it does in just about any other group. And whites tend to fall squarely in the middle there. I may give the edge to the Jews because I've known scores of hilarious Jews, and not too many funny Asians.
BCR: That must be quite an unpopular opinion. That's not an opinion that's gonna appeal to the racists and it's not an opinion that's gonna appeal to the anti-racists...
JIM GOAD: I got into all these street altercations with anti-racist skinheads in Portland, Oregon, around the same time I was being called a race traitor by the National Vanguard website. So I guess I'm doing something right, because they're all getting involved! No-one can pigeonhole me. If you dare to say people aren't equal, you are challenging the biggest religious belief of the modern age. So it's very simple. Prove it. They say racists are illogical, and driven by emotion, and there's the classic, stereotypical inadequacy-fuelled white guy who wants to blame all his problems on everyone else, but, again... prove equality. Prove that people across the board are born with equivalent intelligence, equivalent physical characteristics, physical aptitudes- you can't, because they're not. Evolution's a very complicated process.

BCR: You don't think that has more to do with socio-economic factors?
JIM GOAD: They've done double-blind studies with twins who were separated at birth; that's what the book The Bell Curve was about. They reunited those twins at 21 and they scored identical on IQ tests. There's always exceptions to patterns, but that doesn't disprove the general pattern. One of my next projects is supposed to be The Encyclopaedia Of Race, and the one thing I kept hearing like a mantra, same when I was doing the rape issue- “rape is not about sex, it's about power”- they're putting penises in vaginas, it has SOMETHING to do with sex!- the thing I keep hearing from the anti-racists is “the differences among a group are greater than those between groups”. What, you mean I'm more like a black person than I am a white person? Basically, what it means is, OK, let's say black IQs range from 35 to 110- I know they don't, but for the sake of argument, that's a 75 point differential. Let's say white IQs range from 70 to 150. Again, there are differences, but on average whites are smarter. What you'll never hear them saying is that ECONOMIC differences among a group are greater than those between groups. That's true. Oprah Winfrey, I'm sure you've heard of her, she's the richest black woman in America- she's a billionaire, and then there's some homeless crack addict here on the streets of Atlanta, okay, there's a huge disparity in their income. That's actually a bigger disparity than the average disparity in white and black income. That doesn't mean there's not a disparity between white and black income. On average, whites make more in America.
I guess it pisses me off when people are so emotionally driven that they will bulldozer right over logic. And I've heard that so many times. “The differences within a group are greater than the differences between groups”. And that doesn't really mean anything. If you have, in a more British-friendly metaphor, you have a soccer team, and one guy averages something ridiculous like five goals a game, and one averages none, okay, the difference between those two guys is big... but they're still gonna be a better team if they have more players that score higher. It's a big piece of illogic, just like rape is not about sex. That's fucking insane. People are different. Evolution is a complicated process. The same people who will call you a moron for not believing that we descended from monkeys will ALSO call you a moron if you dare to say evolution hasn't stopped, and we didn't all arrive at the finish line at the same time. It's an ongoing process. They want you to believe that we evolved and we all wound up magically equal. It's ridiculous! And having been raised in Catholic school, I'm naturally drawn to what you're not supposed to think about or challenge. People have told me that, if you could look into it I probably wouldn't care. But methinks thou doth protest too much. If you can't even challenge something- it's like the Holocaust. Wow, even bringing that up, it's like... do all these people who insist there were 6 million- were they there? I wasn't there, I don't fucking know, I don't really have any emotion invested either way, but if you challenge that, then, or sound even interested in challenging it, then...
I always bring up the Holocaust, because, by some estimations, there were 125 million people killed in the century by government action. What the hell happened to the other 119 million? Were they not important? Or the 9 million Germans that died in World War Two? You never hear that. That's 150% as many fatalities as the Jews! 20 million Russians! Does nobody care? Does the reason they got killed really fucking matter to their relatives? I don't think so. I think people need to worry more about true and false and much less about right and wrong. People are really concerned about the symbolism behind a murder. Did the person die? That's really all that matters. Who cares why they got killed? My brother got murdered in Paris in 1968, 69, I've no idea why. All I know is he got murdered. Who cares about why?
But I understand why equality is preached, because if officials just came out and said people aren't equal, and here are the reasons why, there'd be bloodshed. There'd be social turmoil. They need to keep things together so they spread this lie, which definitely appeals to the less equal much more than it does to the people who might tend to be a little superior, but it's a soothing fiction which might keep the peace for a while. But is it true? No. Not true at all.

BCR: Do you still believe, as you said in The Redneck Manifesto, that a lot of the tension between races is more to do with class?
JIM GOAD: Of course, there's a lot of that, I appreciate that I don't know what the deal is anywhere else- as an American, I pretty much know about America and nothing else (laughs), but historically, the first racial apartheid laws in America were written after white and black slaves rebelled together. I don't even know if there's a concept over in the UK that there were white slaves here, but that's what they called them in legal documents. They posted runaway ads in the papers for them. Yeah, I think that historically, divide and conquer has been the biggest political tactic ever. I do think that most working-class, alleged redneck, racist, inbred, toothless, incestuous, bestiality-practicing whites have a lot more in common with ghetto blacks than they do with corporation heads, of course they do. I mean, these anti-racist skinheads, when they attacked me, I said “what, you got a problem with being white?” The guy said “I'm not white”. I said “You know, if you were in prison I bet you the brothers would think you were white”. Just this idea that race doesn't exist, it's crazy... well then, why do some people come out white and some people come out black? It tends to have a lot to do with what their fucking parents were shaded. That's insane. And that's the current liberal fiction that's gaining all this credence and you're labeled a moron if you don't believe in it, but there's no evidence. Nobody can present anything resembling good evidence for equality.
One of the things that got me thinking this way, I lived in Southern California for a while, and Jesus Christ! There were people who had come over from Vietnam 18 months prior, and they were running businesses and had new cars, and then there were Mexicans who had their whole lives been working 18 hours a day and couldn't get anywhere. I said, OK, well, it's not just hard work, or culture... I tend to think Asians- and again, in these standardised tests, they're just smarter. Who the hell knows why?: And that's what I haven't fathomed yet. I don't know enough about brain chemistry, and neural functions, how you would even be able to spread a better brain, but I think the evidence is there, and the observable evidence is pretty conclusive- we're not equal.
BCR: So when's that (Encyclopaedia of Race) likely to be finished?
JIM GOAD: I don't know, that's just a life-long undertaking, and maybe a year into doing it, I'll go “okay, here's the angle”, and just focus on one thing and one theme and hammer it out. Usually when I have a topic, I'm fucking exhausted. Like, you know, after the rape issue? I never wanted to think about the topic again. The suicide issue of ANSWER Me! I spent my one week's vacation that year down at the Los Angeles Public Library feeding quarters into a microfilm machine and printing out Xeroxes of New York Times suicide accounts from the 1890s. I was exhausted. I never ever, ever fucking want to think, hear or talk about it ever again.
